Week #12 Non-BCS College Football Rankings

The Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll rankings for week #12 were released earlier today and to no one's surprise, Alabama is still number one in both polls.  Despite this development, there was some movement in the top ten of both polls.  Oregon's loss to Stanford last Thursday caused the Ducks to fall four places in the AP Poll (five in the Coaches Poll) from #2 to #6.  As a result, the four teams that were ranked below Oregon last week (Florida State, Ohio State, Baylor, and Stanford) advanced one spot regardless of whether or not they played in week #11.  The rest of the top ten in the AP:  #7 Auburn, #8 Clemson, #9 Missouri, and #10 Texas A&M stayed where they were except for Texas A&M, which replaced LSU at the tenth spot after the Tigers' loss to Alabama yesterday.  Miami (FL) and Oklahoma both fell ten places in the AP Poll after their losses to Virginia Tech and Baylor, respectively.  Texas and Georgia have both returned to the AP Top 25 while Texas Tech and Notre Dame were dropped.  Minnesota is now ranked #25 in the Coaches Poll, yet,  as a team with an 8-2 record, they are absent from the AP Poll.  One has to wonder why the AP decided to rank a three-loss Georgia team and leave out an 8-2 Minnesota team that has won their last four games and has a perfect non-conference record.  The Howell Report will post the full BCS rankings and Jerry Palm's revised postseason bowl projections on Monday.  Tomorrow is Veterans Day in the United States and Armistice Day in other parts of the world.  Remember those who served.
